Reading and Academic Intervention
My passion is to spark a lifelong love of reading and learning in my students. There is nothing more gratifying than seeing a student deeply immersed in a book or successfully solving a tricky math problem.
Each session I teach is tailored to your student’s unique needs. I work with students with a range of learning challenges: reading delays, dyslexia, ADHD, processing speed issues, Executive Function gaps and other learning differences.
By doing an initial assessment, I identify your student’s strengths and areas for improvement. I am a strong believer in the use of data to better understand students' instructional needs. Using assessments for different purposes, such as an initial assessment and ongoing progress monitoring, I can decide which research and scientifically-based methods of instruction and intervention may be best for your student.
Then, I put together an individualized plan based on your student’s specific needs. Meeting with students one-on-one in virtual sessions allows me to adapt my instructional style and intervention methods to your child’s learning style.
I conduct ongoing progress monitoring to ensure that the instruction and intervention is working for each student and to ascertain the gains being made. As we work together, I make any necessary adjustments to the interventions being provided to better meet each student’s needs. Every three months or so, I conduct a more formal reassessment to determine overall progress.
