What will the first session look like?

Our first session together will be a time for me to gather information about your student. The initial assessment allows me to observe and process where your child is struggling. The areas of strength and weakness that I observe during the initial assessment will help me determine the best intervention strategies for your child.  It’s also a great opportunity for us to meet and for you to see how online tutoring will work.  

What online platform do you use?

I use Zoom and/or Google Hangouts to hold our sessions. They are both online video conferencing tools that allow me to teach students in the comfort of their home. With these online tools, my students and I can share screens and use a whiteboard.

What type of technology does my child need to have in order to gain the most from your instruction? 

Many of the online resources that I use with students function best when they are able to use an iPad, tablet or a computer with a touch screen. 

Why tutor online? 

Tutoring online allows all of us a great deal of flexibility.  There's no need to drive to another location.  Given our current circumstances, most students are quite comfortable with various online platforms.
